Renting through Airbnb or similar services can be financially tempting as the daily rent can be high in many cases, especially in big cities with many tourists. However, there are also several risks that you should be aware of before embarking on something similar to running a hotel.
If you live in a rental property and want to rent it out via Airbnb, you must always get the landlord's written consent to do so. If this consent is not obtained and you are tempted anyway, it may result in a cancellation of the lease. Also, not all co-operative associations allow rentals via Airbnb - it depends on the association's statutes. There are also many condominium associations that have made bylaws that do not allow rentals via Airbnb and the like. This is usually due to bad experiences in the form of noise nuisance, smoking and other unfortunate behaviour from tenants.

The bill ends up with you
If you rent out many times, e.g. over the summer, it is considered a commercial rental, which is not legal. There are also some research challenges as you can't be sure you're covered if, for example, the tenant steals or destroys your belongings - you've given them access.
I think the biggest risk is that you can't be sure who you're renting to. There is no contract or deposit and if it turns out that the tenant is harassing your neighbours, committing vandalism or crime, you are stuck with the bill and in the worst case scenario you could lose your home.
